Southwest accident

Southwest airlines had a plane landing in Chicago skid off the end of the runway. The media was quick to focus on the event and play hours and hours of video, etc. It was horrible to hear that a little boy in a car was killed (as it slid onto a freeway). No one in the plane was killed (that we know of so far).

When I first saw that it was southwest my heart sank. For some reason I had put Southwest on a pedstal of perfection since they have such a clean accident record. This is still a non fatal event, but at first it was even more heartbreaking for me on a personal level.

It's terrible when your model of perfection crashes off the pedastal (pun intended), but its still ok. The world is still turning and planes are still flying.
